On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, (Rescheduled for a future date) the Southington Genealogical Society is pleased to sponsor a program entitled “ Tips and Tricks for Using Ancestry.com in Researching Your Family” with Toni McKeen.
In this lecture, Toni will show how to research efficiently and successfully using this powerful genealogy website. Learn helpful tips in finding those elusive relatives, which parameters to use, and how to prevent looking at thousands of names in search of the one person you are trying to find. She will also share those often overlooked options and the newest cool features that have just been added.
Toni has been doing genealogy research on her own extensive Italian family, her husband’s Irish family and son in law’s German family for the last 33 years. She now has more than 9,600 of her closest family members entered in her Family Tree Maker program. Toni has identified relatives on extended branches who married into the family including those from various immigrant ethnic groups as well as others who have been here long enough to practically have greeted George Washington when he arrived. She is a member of several genealogical organizations, and was recently Chairman of the Genealogy Club of Newtown.
There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.
The meeting will be held at The Orchards at Southington in their second floor community room at 7:30 pm. There is no admission charge and no obligation to become a member. No reservations are necessary. The facility is handicapped accessible with an elevator.
