Oct. 23, 2018 Meeting, “From Clues to Conclusions: Genealogical Proof” with Marian Wood

The Southington Genealogical Society is pleased to sponsor a program entitled From Clues to Conclusions: Genealogical Proof with Marian Wood on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 7:00 pm at The Orchards, 34 Hobart St in Southington, CT. To go from clues to answers for tough family history challenges, find out what it means to “prove” something in genealogy. With interactive case studies, this lively presentation demonstrates how to use the Genealogical Proof Standard to define the question, analyze research sources and details, resolve conflicting clues, and come to a credible solution.

Marian Burk Wood is a college textbook author, avid family history researcher, and popular genealogy speaker. She earned her MBA at Long Island University and her BA at the City University of New York. Marian blogs about her genealogy experiences at http://climbingmyfamilytree.blogspot.com and her book, “Planning a Future for Your Family’s Past,” will be available at the program.

There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.

The meeting will be held at The Orchards at Southington in their second floor community room at 7 pm. (Note the new start time.) There is no admission charge and no obligation to become a member. No reservations are necessary. The facility is handicapped accessible with an elevator.
